Alcoa not reach agreement with workers at Spanish San Ciprian refinery

It was reported that the formal negotiation on the dismissal issue at Spanish San Ciprian aluminum refinery between Alcoa and workforce representatives, stared on June 25, 2020, was ended on August 4, 2020; however, no agreement was reached.

According to Spanish regulations, Alcoa has 15 days to announce its decision after the negotiation period finished.

The formal negotiation was to discuss the proposed restructuring plan and give corresponding solutions to save the smelter’s financial losses.
