Alcoa Corp., a leading aluminum producer in the US, announced this Wednesday (June 15) that it will invest US$51 million at its Mosjøen smelter in Norway to increase the annual production capacity by 14,000 tons.

The nameplate capacity of the Mosjøen smelter is currently 200,000 tons per year. With this new investment, the capacity was expected to increase to 214,000 tons per year by the end of 2026.

The project enables the Mosjøen smelter to continue fulfilling Alcoa’s customers’ demand for high-quality and low-carbon aluminum.
