Alcoa Corp., a leading aluminum producer in the US, will supply Nexans, a Paris-based copper cable and fiber cable company, with aluminum produced through the Elysis process.

The Elysis process replaces all greenhouse gas emissions with oxygen and eliminates all direct greenhouse gas emissions from the traditional process.

With the collaboration, Nexans will become the first cable manufacturer to use aluminum made from the Elysis process in the world.

Alcoa has also supplied Nexans with EcoLum™ aluminum, which is a primary aluminum with a carbon footprint three times lower than the industry average.
