On June 19, the world's first physically delivered alumina futures contracts were officially listed for trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE). The listing of alumina futures will help enterprises better manage market risks and serve the aluminum industry with high-quality development.

Alumina is the upstream raw material of the aluminum industry. With the development of this industry, China becomes the world's largest producer and consumer of alumina, so it has urgent demand for risk management tools.

According to statistics, China produced 81.86 million tons of alumina in 2022, accounting for more than 50% of global production.
