Alumina production slides in June

Global alumina production totaled around 11.7 million tons in June, down by 4.26% compared to the previous month while increasing by 6.14% from the same month a year ago. Among them, China accounted for roughly 6.35 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 3.23% and a year-on-year increase of 9.82%.

In the second quarter, global alumina production reached around 35.63 million tons, hiking by 3.93% quarter on quarter and 7.81% year on year. Among them, the production from China was around 19.21 million tons, rising by 4.68% quarter on quarter and 11.3% year on year.

In the first half of this year, global alumina production amounted to approximately 69.9 million tons, growing by 6.2% from the same period a year earlier.
