Aluminum of China scrap imports slide in July

In the first seven months of this year, China’s imports of unwrought aluminum alloy had a year-on-year decline of 10.1% to around 573,000 tons; the exports of unwrought aluminum alloy had a year-on-year drop of 17.8% to 93,000 tons; the imports of aluminum scrap had a year-on-year reduction of 3.7% to approximately 463,000 tons.

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, China’s imports of unwrought aluminum alloy totaled 88,000 tons in July this year, sliding by 2.3% compared to the previous month and also dropping by 48.5% from the same month a year ago. The export volume of unwrought aluminum alloy in July was 9,200 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 9.6% and a year-on-year fall of 3.2%. The imports of aluminum scrap were roughly 56,000 tons in July, up by 44.8% month on month and down by 39% year on year.
