ArcelorMittal, the world's second-largest steel producer, began the mining operations in Argentina with the creation of its subsidiary, ArcelorMittal Mining Argentina, on December 11, 2025.

Argentina's mining sector reached US$6 billion in exports in 2025, making it an attractive business opportunity for ArcelorMittal, especially given the company's existing presence in the Argentine market as the owner of Acindar, a leading steel producer in the country.

ArcelorMittal Mining Argentina has a registered capital of US$30 million and is engaged in the exploration and exploitation of mines, extraction, processing, and marketing of minerals and byproducts, as well as transportation, refining, manufacturing, milling, and distribution.
