Despite a weak year for the Brazilian steel sector in 2022, ArcelorMittal's business in Brazil posted the year with good performance.

Precisely, the apparent consumption of steel in the country fell 10.9% in 2022, while domestic steel sales and production of crude steel fell 9.1% and 5.8%, respectively. However, ArcelorMittal posted an increase of 3.8% in net revenue with an EBITDA margin of 21%.

ArcelorMittal in Brazil commented that the good result is possibly due to its quick response in periods of fluctuations, quickly adjusting production to the demands of the national and international market, and implementing measures to preserve cash, reduce costs, optimize processes, and increase productivity.
