ArcelorMittal, the largest steelmaker in Europe, is considering closing two service centers in Reims and Denain, France, due to falling industry demand, particularly reduced activity from the industry and the automobile sectors.

The closure might result in the loss of 130 jobs, including around 100 in Reims and around 30 in Denain. The company has notified employees and will begin negotiations with unions.

The European service center market is expected to further consolidate and restructure due to weak consumption and financial difficulties for processors.
