According to statistics released by the Argentinian steel association (Acero Argentino), Argentina’s crude steel production totaled around 442,000 tons in January this year, slightly rising by 0.64% compared to the previous month.

During the period, Argentina’s output of hot-rolled coil rose by 8% to 195,000 tons, that of cold-rolled coil slid by 3.5% to 109,000 tons, and that of long products was down by 2.5% to 194,000 tons, all year on year.

The association said that the increase in steel consumption in January was mainly due to the strong demand from civil construction, energy, and agriculture machinery fields.
