Brazilian scrap exports increase in Sep

According to statistics from the Brazil Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Brazil exported around 97,000 tons of scrap in September, up by 75.6% compared to the previous month and also hiking by nearly 20% from the same month a year ago, hitting a new high since May 2016.

In the first nine months of this year, the exports totaled roughly 622,000 tons, rising by 25.8% from the same period a year earlier.

During the period, Brazilian scrap was mainly exported to India, accounting for 31% of the total export volume. Followed by Bangladesh and Pakistan, with a separate proportion of 26% and 15%.
