According to statistics from Brazil's Ministry of Economics, Brazil exported around 748,700 tons of alumina in September this year, growing by 38.4% compared to 541,100 tons in the same period a year ago.

The increase was mainly due to higher shipments from two major states. Among them, the shipment from the port of Belém in the State of Para in northern Brazil increased by 17.83% year on year to roughly 393,800 tons, and that from the port of São Luís in the northeastern state of Maranhão totaled 353,400 tons, up by nearly 74% year on year.

In the given period, the value of these exports reached US$248.3 million, hiking by 55.2% year on year.
