According to the Brazilian Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea), Brazil produced 190,907 automobiles this April, surging from 1,847 units year on year, due to production suspension in April 2020 caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. However, the figure dropped by 4.7% compared to the previous month.

The association said that some automotive factories must be temporarily shut down in early April due to logistics problems and chip shortages. The risk of provisional operation suspension might continue until the end of 2021.
