Brazil’s crude steel output decreases in Jun

According to data from Aco Brasil Institute, Brazil’s crude steel output was about 2.9 million tons in June, decreasing by 5.4% year on year. In the first half of 2022, crude steel production reached 17.4 million tons, dropping by 2.8% compared to the same period of last year.

Besides that, in June, Brazil’s apparent steel consumption was almost 2 million tons, dropping by 20.2% year on year. In the second quarter, the steel consumption was around 6 million tons, increasing by 6.1% quarter on quarter.

Brazil’s steel product exports amounted to 1.1 million tons, growing by 12.6% year on year. On the contrary, the steel imports were 197,000 tons in June, decreasing by 65% year on year.
