Brazil's crude steel output increases in Sep

According to the Brazil Steel Institute (IABr), Brazil produced roughly 2.6 million tons of crude steel in September, increasing by 7.5% from the same period a year ago. The production of finished steel products was about 1.9 million tons, going down by 2.6% year on year.

During this period, Brazil imported around 140,000 tons and exported about 760,000 tons of finished steel products, falling by 22.9% and 20.9% year on year, respectively.

The value of imports and exports was approximately US$170 million and US$380 million, decreasing by 19% and 27.4% year on year, respectively.
