According to Brazilian customs statistics, Brazil’s pig iron exports amounted to around 213,000 tons in April this year, dropping by 51.3% compared to the previous month. The decrease was mainly due to lower demand from the US.

During the period, the exports were mostly to the US, South America, Europe, and Asia, with the separate volume of around 141,000 tons, 36,000 tons, 34,000 tons, and 2,000 tons, mainly exported by suppliers in the states of Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Pará, Maranhão, and Mato Grosso do Sul.
