According to Thiago Rodrigues, vice president of finance and investor relations of the Brazilian steelmaker Usiminas, the current year presents important challenges for the company, both externally and internally.

Rodrigues highlighted that the main external problem that Usiminas faces is the invasion of subsidized imported steel in the Brazilian market, urging the government to take necessary measures to face foreign competition and maintain competitiveness in the national market.

On the other hand, the vice president highlighted that the high investments made in the Ipatinga plant, located in Minas Gerais, represented the company's main internal challenge.
