Scott Moe, the premier of Saskatchewan, province of Canada, worried that tariffs on Canadian steels could follow the US' decision to impose a 10% tariff on Canadian aluminum imports.

The US President Donald Trump announced a new 10% tariff on Canadian aluminum last Thursday, and Canada responded by announcing it would retaliate with import tariffs on US$3.6 billion worth of US aluminum products.

In 2018, the US imposed tariffs of 10% on Canadian aluminum and 25% on steel, before withdrawing the steel and aluminum tariffs in 2019.
