According to statistics from China Customs, China’s alumina exports reached 170,000 tons in April this year, hitting the highest since 2018, to make up for the supply gap in Russia.

Besides, in the same month, China’s unwrought copper exports had a year-on-year growth of 53% to approximately 116,500 tons, reaching a new high since May 2016.

China shipped out a great number of metals, such as aluminum, copper, and zinc, in March, and the amount has become higher since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Moreover, due to the COVID-19 epidemic spread in China, the government implemented strict blockage in major cities, which severely hit the domestic demand.
