China’s alumina exports grow in Aug

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China’s alumina exports totaled 150,000 tons in August, rising by 26.1% compared to the same month a year ago.

During the period, China’s imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products totaled around 278,700 tons, up by 38.9% year on year. Imports of aluminum ore and its concentrate totaled 11.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9%.

In the first eight months of this year, China’s alumina exports rose by 17.5% to 840,000 tons, imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products hiked by 15.8% to around 1.71 million tons, and imports of aluminum ore and its concentrate grew by 11.8% to 9,700 tons, all on a year-on-year basis.
