China's aluminum employment volume ranks first in world

The International Aluminum Institute (IAI) reported that the global aluminum employment volume totaled around 7.53 million in 2019, including the upstream industries of mining, refining, and smelting. In addition, the employment volume of downstream and the relevant industries was around 350,000, 1.25 million, and 5.925 million, respectively.

In 2019, the employment volume of the Chinese aluminum industry ranked first in the world, with a total of approximately 751,000 people. Among them, the volume of upstream employees and downstream employees was around 130,000 and 621,000, respectively.

India, Brazil, Russia, the EU countries and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), Australia, Guinea, Canada, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia ranked second to tenth, with employment volume of approximately 68,000, 27,000, 20,000, 20,000, 15,000, 11,000, 9,000, 7,000, and 6,000 people, respectively.
