According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China's imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products totaled around 196,500 tons in October, falling by nearly 34% compared to the year-ago level. The decrease was due to continued weak demand and rising domestic supply.

In the first ten months of this year, China’s imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products amounted to 1.88 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 27%.

In terms of primary aluminum, the output in October has grown by eight months in a row, reaching 3.45 million tons. The output in the January-October period was up by 3.3% year on year to 33.3 million tons.

However, due to the restriction of China’s zero-Covid policy, the demand for aluminum remains weak.
