According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China’s aluminum production totaled 3.3 million tons in March this year, which hiked by 1.8% compared to the same month a year ago, hitting a new high since last May. The growth was mainly due to strong profits.

In the first three months of this year, China’s aluminum production amounted to 9.63 million tons, down by 1.33% year on year.

The demand for aluminum was impacted due to the recent COVID-19 outbreaks and blockage in China although production in some regions such as Yunnan has been resumed after being affected by electricity cuts in 2021.
