China’s automobile production & sales decrease in Feb

In February, China’s automobile production reached about 1.51 million units, dropping by 37.5% from the previous month and falling by 25.9% compared to the corresponding period a year ago. Among them, the output of passenger vehicles totaled about 1.27 million units, a year-on-year drop of 25.8%. The production of commercial vehicles and new energy vehicles were 233,000 units and 464,000 units, decreasing by 26.6% and 16% year on year, respectively.
During the same month, automobile sales in China were about 1.58 million units, falling by 35.1% month on month and 19.9% year on year. In specific, the sales of passenger vehicles totaled about 1.33 million units, a year-on-year drop of 19.4%. The sales of commercial vehicles and new energy vehicles were 251,000 units and 477,000 units, decreasing by 22.5% and 9.2% year on year, respectively.
