In September, because the steel peak season made steel demands expected to be high, many of China’s steel mills resumed operation, further increasing steel production significantly.

In October, the steel demand was lower than expected. Also, the cost remained high, and steel prices fluctuated, making steel mills’ profits go down, further lowering steel production.

China’s steel output was expected to go down in October. According to the estimates, the average of China’s daily crude steel production in October would be around 2.85 million tons. Among them, the output from medium-large steel manufacturers would be about 2.05 million tons.
