China’s iron ore production rises in Jan-Oct

According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China produced a total of around 872 million tons of iron ore in the first ten months of this year, rising by 2.8% compared to the year-ago period.

The iron ore output in October amounted to approximately 86.45 million tons, rising by 4.4% month on month but down by 4% year on year.

In terms of imports, China imported around 104 million tons of iron ore in October, down by 0.2% month on month and up by 4.5% year on year. The cumulative imports in the first ten months amounted to around 1 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 5%.
