China’s primary aluminum production hits record high in Nov

According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China's primary aluminum production in November grew by 3.6% year on year a record 3.7 million tons, driven by strong export demand. The production in the first 11 months of the year amounted to 40.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%.

Meanwhile, Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) statistics showed that aluminum inventories totaled around 214,500 tons as of last Friday, a weekly drop of 4.4%, hitting a new low since May 10 this year. The inventory has slid for seven weeks in a row.
