China's stainless steel imports & exports fall in Jun

According to statistics from the Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association, China’s stainless steel imports totaled around 118,000 tons in June, falling by 16.7% compared to the previous month and by 56.5% from the year-ago level. Among them, imports from Indonesia had a month-on-month decrease of 20.5% and a year-on-year drop of 58.8% to 91,000 tons.

In terms of exports, China exported around 343,000 tons of stainless steel in June, down by 2.5% month on month and by 30% year on year.

In the first half of this year, China's stainless steel imports amounted to 842,000 tons, falling by 50% year on year. Imports from Indonesia plunged by 54.7% to 643,000 tons during the period.

Meanwhile, exports were around 2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.8%.
