China’s steel exports grow, imports fall in Jan-Jul

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China exported around 7.3 million tons of steel products in July, falling by 2.7% compared to the previous month. Steel imports during the month totaled 678,000 tons, hiking by 10.8% from the preceding month.

In the first seven months of this year, China’s steel exports amounted to 50.89 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 28%. However, steel imports during the period dropped by 32.6% year on year to 4.42 million tons,
