According to reports, in order to supplement the investment in the new grain-oriented silicon steel (GOES) plant, China's Taiyuan Iron and Steel Group (TISCO) ordered two new production lines from France's Fives Group, namely decarburizing and coating line (DCL) and The flattening and coating line (FCL), with an annual production capacity of 80,000 tons. It is expected to start production in the second half of 2021.

It is mainly used for processing TISCO's cold-rolled strip steel. The silicon content is less than 3.5%, the thickness range is 0.15-0.5mm, and the maximum width is 1280mm.

TISCO invested RMB2.58 billion in November 2019 to start the GOES plant project and plans to produce the first strip by the end of 2020. It is understood that GOES in China is currently mainly produced by the state-owned giant Baowu Group.
