China's Tsingshan to set up lithium iron phosphate plant in Chile

According to the statement from the Chilean President, China's Tsingshan Holding Group will make a US$233.2 million investment to set up a plant to produce lithium iron phosphate (LFP), which was applied in power electric vehicles. Chile has the biggest lithium reserves in the world.
The plant was expected to be operated in May 2025 and could create 668 job opportunities at full capacity. The authority indicated that it aimed to produce 120,000 tons of LFP.
