Chinese primary aluminum output decreases in May

According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), the output of 10 major non-ferrous metals in China totaled around 4.98 million tons in May 2020, up by 4.1% compared to the same month a year ago; that in the first five months of this year amounted to approximately 24.1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%.

Among them, Chinese output of primary aluminum was around 2.98 million tons in May, falling by 0.1% year on year; that in the period from January to May reached roughly 14.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.1%.
