The global stainless steel industry is experiencing an increase in demand for high-grade chromium ore, driven by a recovering international stainless steel market and tightening supply conditions. Major consumer markets, including China and Europe, have had a rebound in stainless steel production, further raising procurement activity for chromium concentrate and pushing prices higher.

In addition, supply disruptions in Turkey due to weather conditions and logistical issues have led to a temporary reduction in spot market availability. Meanwhile, fluctuations in the Turkish lira have made local miners raise export quotations to reflect cost variations.

Also, South Africa’s uncertain chromium export policies have also led some buyers to seek more stable supplies from Turkey, further supporting the prices of chromium concentrate.
