This breakthrough allows the replacement of aluminum with Cliffs' steel in critical automotive applications, removing the need for costly retooling.
The achievement, driven by Cliffs’ technical teams, enables a seamless switch, particularly timely given recent disruptions in the aluminum supply chain. Cliffs has transitioned from trial to routine production and is now filling regular orders.
