Cleveland-Cliffs to resume DRI plant capacity

Cleveland-Cliffs, Inc., a US iron ore and steel producer, aimed to restart the construction of its direct reduced iron (DRI) plant in Toledo, Ohio in the second half of 2020 after suspending works on March 20th in the state's response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The construction of the project was first announced in June 2017. Prior to the shutdown, the new DRI plant was scheduled to open in June 2020 and was expected to have a production capacity of 1.9 million tons by 2021.
