During the past week, few imported products were sold in the South Korean market due to the approved anti-dumping (AD) measures. Large factories from countries and regions which were included in the AD list tried to earn their tariff exemption by offering higher quotations, while China showed no interest in purchasing since the import price was not competitive enough.

At the beginning of August, the stainless steel import price in the East Asia market slightly increased. However, although the price went up, trading activities remained inactive in the market.

This week, some exporters put down their quotations as the domestic price decreased, while some raised the quotation for hot-rolled coil due to low supply.
