Egypt exports some steel products to Mercosur without tariffs

It was reported that Egyptian exports of certain steel products destined for Mercosur countries are exempt from tariffs. The steel products involved are under custom code 720836, 720925, 721011, 721210, 730411, 730422, and 730424.
The Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry expressed its intention to use the Mercosur as a hub for Egypt’s exports to South America.
Egypt and Mercosur signed a free trade agreement, which entered into force in September 2017. The free trade agreement will exempt 90% of tariffs on products traded between the two parties.
