The EU is considering making a mechanism to impose new duties on steel, cement, and aluminum to pay for greenhouse gas emissions, which will make domestic producers face additional costs.
Besides, it was understood that the EU also wanted to introduce a penalty system involving a duty imposition of fertilizers and electricity.
As part of a broader package of measures to be unveiled on July 14, these measures in the plan are to ensure the EU economy to be consistent with stricter emission reduction targets in 2030.
