EU's steel buyers waiting for latest imported steel safeguard measure, transaction volume stays low

According to the recent market in the EU, most of the European buyers were waiting for the latest safeguard measures from the government, which caused the market transaction volume to remain low, and the prices facing pressured.

To react to the impact from the COVID-19, the European Steel Association (Eurofer), had asked the EU to cut around 75% of the import quotas to protect the local steelmakers.

The final ruling for this case might be launched by the end of June, and the market expected the government would reply to the demand from Eurofer, and the market was expected to keep cold until then.
