Global alumina production falls in Jan

According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), global alumina production totaled around 11.65 million tons in January this year, sliding by 0.42% compared to the preceding month and by 1.09% from the year-ago level.

Among them, China’s alumina production reached 6.7 million tons, a slight month-on-month increase of 0.3% and a year-on-year hike of 4%.

In January, global daily alumina production averaged 375,700 tons, down by 0.42% month on month and by 1.08% year on year.
