Global alumina production grows in Jul

According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), global alumina production totaled 12.53 million tons in July this year, falling by 2.7% compared to the previous month and rising by 3.5% from the year-ago period.
Among them, the output from China was up by 3.1% month on month and by 11% year on year; that from Oceania rose by 3.8% month on month and fell by 4.6% year on year.
In the first seven months of this year, global alumina production amounted to approximately 80.44 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.86%. Among them, the production from China increased by 2.13% year on year to 45 million tons, and that from Oceania fell by 3.06% year on year to 11.95 million tons.
