Global aluminum market has shortage of 1.021 million tons in H1 2021

According to a report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global aluminum market has a shortage of 1.021 million tons in the first half of this year, compared to an oversupply of 1.193 million tons in 2020.

During the period, global aluminum consumption was 35.47 million tons, dropping by 44% compared to the same period a year ago.

In June alone, the global aluminum market consumption was around 6.093 million tons, and the aluminum output was roughly 5.77 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%.
