Global aluminum market has shortage of 1.366 million tons in Jan-Oct 2021

According to a report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global aluminum market has a shortage of 1.366 million tons in the first ten months of this year. The supply surplus in 2020 was 1.271 million tons.

During the January-October period, global aluminum demand was 57.61 million tons, increasing by 8.3% compared to the same period a year ago.

Meanwhile, global primary aluminum output was up by 4.1% year on year in the first ten months of this year.

In October alone, global aluminum output amounted to roughly 56.35 million tons, and the demand was around 57.23 million tons.
