Global crude stainless steel production reaches 64.16 million tons in 2025

According to the World Stainless Association, global crude stainless steel output reached 64.16 million tons in 2025, an increase of 2.1% compared with the previous year. 

Overall, global stainless steel output continued to rise in 2025. The main growth drivers came from Asian countries such as China, Indonesia, and India. The US market showed a strong recovery, while production in Europe declined. 

Total output in Asia reached 55.31 million tons in 2025, up 2.7% compared with 2024. China alone produced 40.87 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%, accounting for 63.7% of global production.
