Global crude steel production capacity increases in 2023

According to relevant information, global crude steel production capacity will reach about 2.5 billion tons by the end of 2023, with an increase of 2.3% compared to 2022. This is also the first time that global crude steel production capacity has increased by more than 50 million tons annually in 10 years.

According to professional forecasts, Asia's crude steel production capacity ranks first in the world in 2023, estimated at 1.66 billion tons. Followed by Europe, with a production capacity of 294.3 million tons. Among them, EU countries accounted for 213.6 million tons, and other European countries accounted for 80.7 million tons. North America ranks third in terms of production capacity at 165.8 million tons.
