The global shipbuilding industry was recovered strongly in 2021.

The number of new ship orders for the whole year 2021 has hit the second highest record in the past 10 years. The industry is currently undergoing a super cycle.

According to French shipbroker Barry Rogliano Salles (BRS), there are several factors that can prove that the shipbuilding industry has entered a new super cycle in 2021.

The first is the sharp increase in new orders, which exceeding the production capacity of the shipyard, extending the delivery of hand-held orders to 2025. Secondly, the growth of orders for dual-fuel ships. At the same time, the price of new buildings rose by 30%.

Besides, the price of second-hand ships rose even more, especially for container ships and bulk carriers. It all shows optimistic expectations for the future.
