The UK data analytics and consulting company GlobalData estimated that global bauxite output will drop by 0.1% to 344 million tons this year, showing that the temporary suspension at mines due to the COVID-19 epidemic brought little impact on bauxite supply.

According to GlobalData, the bauxite output was expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.8% from 2021 to 2024. The output will reach 387 million tons by 2024, and the main sources will be Australia, Guinea, and India.
