The UK data analytics and consulting company GlobalData expected that global bauxite output will slightly shrink by 0.1% to 344 million tons in 2020 as the temporary suspension at mines caused by the COVID-19 epidemic had no impact on bauxite supply.

Among them, Australia’s bauxite output will have a year-on-year increase of 1.9% to 107 million tons in 2020, accounting for roughly a third of the total output in the world.

According to the latest World Bank ranking, Guinea has moved forward to the second-largest bauxite producer in the world, after Australia, and China ranked third.
