With the growing demand for low-carbon aluminum, Gränges AB, the big and famous Swedish rolled aluminum firm, announced this week that they will invest US$52 million to expand its aluminum recycling operations at its plant in Huntingdon, Tennessee.

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Green Invest program will provide renewable energy to power this project. The project is expected to be put into operation in 2024 and will provide a significant return.

This investment was also regarded as part of Gränges' efforts at launching near-zero carbon aluminum production by the end of 2024.
