Hydro's bauxite & alumina production grow in Q2

According to a report released by Norsk Hydro on July 23, the firm’s bauxite production totaled 2.66 million tons in the second quarter of this year, growing by 14% compared to the same period a year ago. The outsourced volume of bauxite was 1.67 million tons during the period, a year-on-year increase of 28%.

In terms of alumina, the production was nearly 1.6 million tons in the second quarter, up by 10% year on year. The primary aluminum production during the period was 560,000 tons, rising by 10% year on year, mainly due to the completion of the production resumption at the B line of the Husnes plant in Norway.
